Our annual bowling fundraiser was born three years ago when Good Mews came to the rescue of an elderly cat found outdoors in the dead of winter. The cat was given the name Pops and the idea of “Pins for Pops” came shortly thereafter. When Pops was adopted the event became known as “Pins for Purrs”.
Held the final Sunday of July, the event provides a fun way for volunteers and supporters of Good Mews to mix and mingle while raising much need money for our cats and kittens.
In addition to the bowling, we have prizes up for grabs and a silent auction table. Everyone who reserves a spot will earn a ticket to be used for the chance to win one of the many prizes we have available. You can also bring specified shelter supplies to earn additional tickets or purchase tickets the day of the event. For a full list of the prizes, silent auction items, and eligible supplies click here to get to the Pins for Purrs tab.
New this year we are pleased to announce we are being joined by supporters of Our Pal’s Place. OPP is an animal advocate organization with a pet adoption facility and education center located in Marietta. With the addition of Our Pal’s Place we are hoping this year’s Pins for Purrs will be the biggest one yet.
Won’t you consider joining us? Tickets may be purchased here. Please do so before Monday, July 16th so we may give an appropriate count to the bowling alley. Don’t worry if you aren’t a very good bowler. No one will notice! And to see pictures from our first two years, check out our Flickr stream.
We hope to see you at the Brunswick Zone on Delk Rd in Marietta on Sunday, July 29th. Bowling goes from 204.
