“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” ~ Winston Churchill

I once heard it said that it’s easier to donate money than time because you can always make more money but you can never make more time.  It is truly a special person who gives of their time.  Good Mews is very lucky to have a large group of dedicated volunteers who give freely of their time and energy.  In fact, Good Mews has only three full-time employees which should give you a hint as to exactly how much is done by volunteers.

Clean & Feed, Meds, Adoptions, Kitty Cab, Disaster Recovery, Communications, Maintenance and Fundraising are just a sampling of ways that people give of their time in support of the shelter.  To see a description of these volunteer opportunities, check out the volunteer tab on our website.  If you are an animal lover and are looking for a way to meet some like-minded people, why not spend some time at the shelter! In addition to supporting a good cause, you’ll meet a few people who are bound to become lifelong friends.

We recently celebrated our volunteers with an appreciation pic-nic.  As one volunteer commented it was good to take some downtime with folks you normally see while busy.  It was nice afternoon but back to work we must go!
